was messing around with it a few days ago having a laugh.
requires a little bit of perseverance. no idea what my 'MIDI' host sync mode was, but it might possibly sync when both LEDs are lit. midi note does not seem to have an effect. it's just 'Run' on or off, and i had a kick running from something else and it seemed more or less ok.
'303' element is hideously inaccurate but can get quite 'acid' if you squeeze the settings.
likewise the Bass Drum CAN be made audible (lol) if you squeeze it. the two other drum instruments can serve as various percussive sounds (albeit fairly limited). you don't have to use these, they were just included as an afterthought really. but it is a sort of 'groovebox'.
there's another version of the drum machine plugin: Z-Drum v.0.001
