I dind't say that plugdata had to be used standalone , I wrote that my modules are used as abstractions either in plugdata as a vstplugin or standalone mode but Yyou keep on hammering about plugin export and juce guis .
And there is a huge advantage for plugdata being stanalone , you think it's meant to be run as a plugin only because it's called plugdata  ??
From your comments I can only conclude that your knowledge about plugdata and pure data is pretty minimal , so stop lecturing me :tu:
I use plugdata as avst plugin like this in my host renoise

Reaktor (first version generator 1998 ) and pure data were released roughly at the same time , you can't really comppurethere is a huge differnce between the two and reakotr only became really powerfull around 2005 when core was introduced

"The primary objective is to offer a more user-friendly patching experience that seamlessly integrates with various Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) programs." ~ https://plugdata.org/documentation.html

And, once again:

"...here I've tried to reframe/update Plugdata through more of an end-user lense and as it has progressed since.
From an end-user perspective, your 'a lot of crashes', 'rats' nest' images, apparently-banned co-commenter as well as dated-thread obscurity can be confusing and offputting." ~ Sackbut (upthread)

Obviously there's nothing wrong with your or anyone else's approach per se. I've made that quite clear at the outset and the end-users obviously appreciate those who can and maybe prefer to code for GUI's that we end-users can then take to task... without bothering with the 'rats' nests' (that nevertheless don't seem to go anywhere or as far as they could if they were dolled-up and/or made somehow more accessible to the general population).

No one's trying to lecture you, steal your thunder or crash your elite visual object programming club's party. (insert eye-rolling emoji here)

But maybe they should.

As for Pure Data's age, although it's still relatively old, I might be thinking more of CSound or something like that. In any case, computer music/audio has been around for awhile (with an 'of course' qualification, just in case you might think I'm lecturing you again. LOL).
