It might be easier to say what i am only interested in, but, first i'll answer the OP:
emulations-no interest at all. i have hardware (bought and home built) i don't particularly think "that analogue sound" is better (i like it for some uses), most synthesizer users that i knew or listened to back in the day dreamed of more stable and precise synths and effects (as Harry Bissell would say BBDs suck) jk .
samplers- have a few, that's enough, have more samples than i'll ever use (Soniccoutre, Omnisphere, Absynth, Alchemy and oodles more)
super synths- with one exception i have enough.
Effects- unless it does something new, i have more than i need (and i am an effects monger). i have Valhalla Delay and PSP 608MD, 285, Echo, and so many more. Exception might be MFM from u-he. Yes, all reverbs are different, but, 5 or 6 (ok maybe a bit more) is sufficient. Compressors, i don't even understand the buzz, unless one is tracking, mixing live, or using homemade samples. Bit crushers, i've almost never used one. A good overdrive saturation is a different story, i occasionally use them and a cutting edge saturation would be of interest. etc, etc
Granular- if it beats Reaktor and Crusher X (and Kaivo) i'm all ears, otherwise not interested
I don't want anything that is not innovative.
What i am still interested in:
Additive- i want Sumu, and i'm looking forward to where it's heading or something else new
Physical Model- this i am fascinated with, Plasmonic, Physical Audio, Outersect Modeler. i do have Tassman and Reaktor which will keep me busy forever but i'd like to have all the above and see what's new.
All in one that i am going to buy-Pigments. i really like the modulation and GUI (with a few niggles but heck, they keep upgrading it). i see a lot of comments that it doesn't sound good. Try turning off most of the effects, messing with the filters, upping the attack on the ENV VCA, etc. I think it's the presets not the actual instrument.
Dawesome VIs, great stuff, heading into new territory like resynthesis.
I have so much stuff (and i don't have nearly that much) that i could make noise all daynight/every daynight for the rest of my life. i need more time not more stuff. So much of the conversation here on KVR is about "what to get", i'm more interested in "how to use what i already have.
Last point- i own Reaktor and Max/ Max for Live. I seriously could have stopped there.
sorry, long rant TL:DR- anything not innovative (i repeat myself)
