We think that CLAP is a much better plugin format as VST3 as it comes with proper MIDI support.
Like many other companies we use JUCE as a wrapper for the plugin formats. The JUCE team has annouced that they want to support CLAP in JUCE v9.x. So support for it should be possible with reasonable effort.
